Busy Bees is managed by a committee of volunteers mainly parents and carers of children who attend the group.
The committee meets each term and their responsibilities include:
The committee are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and consists of:
Chair - Heading the committee the Chair is the registered nominated person with Ofsted and ambassador for the charity. The Chair calls and runs committee meetings and ensures that all agreed actions are carried out and the committee operates to its Constitution.
Treasurer - The Treasurer has overall responsibility for maintaining the groups finances and informing the trustees of the financial position of the charity. Complying with charity finance procedures and the Constitution the Treasurer provides a written statement of accounts at committee meetings and the AGM.
Secretary - Prepares meeting agendas, records meeting minutes and deals with written communications on behalf of the committee including updating information with the Charities Commission.
Committee members - Whilst these members do not have specific responsibilities like the officer roles detailed above the committee members play an important part in supporting the officers in achieving the charities aims, carrying out all trustee duties in accordance with the Constitution.
All committee members undergo suitability checks and have been fully vetted by Ofsted through the DBS system.
We are pleased to offer a high adult to child ratio in the setting. This allows staff to give time and attention to each child.
Our staffing structure includes:
Staff attend recognised paediatric First Aid training and Safeguarding Children training courses that are appropriate to their job role and responsibilities. We also recognise the importance of staff development and keeping up to date with current best practice; we therefore support and encourage staff to undertake appropriate formal childcare qualifications.
You do not need any experience to join our friendly and fun committee, we always welcome new members and please don’t underestimate how much you can offer!!
Joining the committee is a great opportunity to make new friends and develop your own skills and in addition to get involved with your child’s education while contributing to the running of the setting.
